چکیده

Page 16788 and Supporting Information page SI-4. Entry 13 was inadvertently omitted from Table 1 and S.I. Table 1. This entry suggests mechanistic overlap between our alkene isomerization and hydrogen atom transfer radical polymer-ization, more so than entry 12 alone. The complete S.I. Table 1 is shown below. Simple, Chemoselective, Catalytic Olefin Isomerization

Catalytic amounts of Co(Sal(tBu,tBu))Cl and organosilane irreversibly isomerize terminal alkenes by one position. The same catalysts effect cycloisomerization of dienes and retrocycloisomerization of strained rings. Strong Lewis bases like amines and imidazoles, and labile functionalities like epoxides, are tolerated.

Iridium complexes of new NCP pincer ligands: catalytic alkane dehydrogenation and alkene isomerization.

Iridium complexes of novel NCP pincer ligands containing pyridine and phosphinite arms have been synthesized. One Ir complex shows good catalytic activity for alkane dehydrogenation, and all complexes are highly active for olefin isomerization. A combination of the Ir complex and a (PNN)Fe pincer complex catalyzes the formation of linear alkylboronates selectively from internal olefins via sequ...

Decomposition of a key intermediate in ruthenium-catalyzed olefin metathesis reactions.

Dinuclear ruthenium complex, with a bridging carbide and a hydride ligand, and methyltricyclohexylphosphonium chloride result from thermal decomposition of olefin metathesis catalyst, (IMesH2)(PCy3)(Cl)2Ru=CH2. Involvement of dissociated phosphine in the decomposition is proposed. The dinuclear complex has catalytic olefin isomerization activity, which can be responsible for competing isomeriza...

A One-Pot Tandem Olefin Isomerization/Metathesis-Coupling (ISOMET) Reaction

A tandem catalytic reaction has been developed as part of a process to discover tungsten-based olefin metathesis catalysts that have a strong preference for terminal olefins over cis or trans internal isomers in olefin metathesis. This tandem isomerization/terminal olefin metathesis reaction (ISOMET) converts Cn trans internal olefins into C2n−2 cis olefins and ethylene. This reaction is made p...

Oxidative cleavage of olefins by in situ-generated catalytic 3,4,5,6-tetramethyl-2-iodoxybenzoic acid/oxone.

Oxidative cleavage of a variety of olefins to the corresponding ketones/carboxylic acids is shown to occur in a facile manner with 3,4,5,6-tetramethyl-2-iodobenzoic acid (TetMe-IA)/oxone. The simple methodology involves mere stirring of the olefin and catalytic amount (10 mol %) of TetMe-IA and oxone in acetonitrile-water mixture (1:1, v/v) at rt. The reaction mechanism involves initial dihydro...
